Manager Project Engineering
As Product Engineer within the CORE department you will be technically responsible for standardization of existing products using engineering tools like Lesson learns and 8D problem solving, developing new technologies within the roof systems and sub-assemblies under the guidance of a Core Engineering Manager and supporting our customer focused project teams for new and running projects. You will work inside a cross functional, customer focused team, who will take new innovations through the whole product development cycle, from initial concept through to full production at one of our assembly plants.
Within standard parts CORE team, the product engineer will be responsible for varying different components like glass, rubber, metal components and finishing parts.
Your Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Technical risk analysis of our designs in consideration of Inalfa & our Customer specifications, using formal design tools such as DFMEA / GDT tolerance stacks;
Technical liaison with our CAD Design Engineers and our component suppliers, developing the components up to Engineering design release of 3D/2D CAD models;
Assurance of the product robustness and reliability through agreement of Design Verification Plans (DVP) together with our Test/CAE engineers and resolution of development issues using 8D root cause analysis methodology;
Optimisation of existing technologies related to functionality, costs and robustness through constant interaction with our Process and Purchase colleagues and collaboration with our suppliers;
Proactively support both our customer and supplier quality assurance departments.
Improve / setup standardization documents like: Technical dashboards, Preferred designs, Quality drawings, Advanced parametric models, etc.
What Do We Expect From You:
You have a finished degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering on a BSc or MSc level.
It is important to have good communication skills in English. German, Dutch and French are a plus.
Background in lighting solutions is a plus (LED, LED modules and optics)
Automotive experience is a plus but not always necessary.
As a professional you have a service/customer oriented approach with good analytical and organizational skills.
In your work you focus on results and you are able to manage your planning and set priorities.
As the automotive industry is focused on Quality you are as well. Therefore, you bring good problem solving skills with a pragmatic and pro-active approach.
