Are you ready to grow with usAre you ready to shift into the next gear of your career As a Controls Engineer within Inalfa you in the driver's seat for designing, analyzing, and optimizing systems that regulate the behavior of other systems, ensuring they operate predictably and optimally.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Support specifying HMI/software features and manufacturing equipment Design electrical/control-wiring schematics on CAD system Design of control logic and control schematics Design ladder logic and relay logic PLC programming RSlogix5000, FactoryTalk View Layout detailing and subassembly op panels Bill of material and selection of component System interfacing, power calculation, sizing of cable wires Testing, start-up, debugging, and trouble shooting *Support upgrading current assembly lines, machinery, jigs, fixtures to improve Process control (error proofing) User-friendliness on Human Machine Interface and self-diagnostics Data-collection Start-up/setting instructions Database Development Support engineering department in development of control units for our sunroofs and the interfacing to the car Support engineering department with programming of IRS testing equipment Enhance knowledge of electronics/control systems etc. within IRS/USA Support MIS department on industrial computers and associated hardware The control engineer will be the specialist for electronics/PLC and robot software for IRS/USA Quality lead-time and cost control for each task assigned Programming, debugging and startup of new automated assembly machinery, robots and Human-Machine-Interfaces Write/change documentation for start-up/setting calibration of machinery Continuous improvement actions (Kaizen) to optimize processes of the current machinery park by improving Human-Machine-Interface, adding error proofing, vision, and debugging. This is needed reduce WIP, down time, wasteful scrap and rework. Support maintenance department in troubleshooting, solving machine breakdowns etc. if needed outside of the normal working hours. Will provide training as needed to Maintenance Automation Technicians in troubleshooting, PLC, Robotics and control systems. Communication with internal functions, suppliers, and the customer SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None at this time IATF16949 RESPONSIBILITIES The IATF16949 responsibilities listed below are required for this position. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have worked successfully in several automation projects for the manufacturing industry (automotive and robot projects preferred). Good analyzing skills for trouble shooting and for solving technical problems. Must have sound knowledge of automation techniques, machine control systems, programmable logic controllers, pneumatics and computer programming. Preferred knowledge about (M) OSHA electrical/electronics requirements and automotive EMC requirements. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Good PLC programming skills, especially Allen Bradley RSlogix 5000, knowledge about Visual Basic, and AutoCAD preferred. Able to work on several issues simultaneous; able to set-up a good planning for projects/running operations; can work under pressure. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science in an Electrical/Automated Manufacturing Engineers discipline or related engineering degree and 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, machine control languages, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
